De La Terre (Reliable Man) was an impressive winner of the Dylan Johnson Bloodstock 2YO at Te Rapa

It was a real privilege to be involved in yesterdays race meeting as the named sponsor of the 2YO race over 1100M. Our thanks goes to Andrew Castles and team at Te Rapa Racing for allowing us to be involved.

In what was a fitting result it was fantastic to see the very talented De La Terre (Reliable Man) make it back to back wins and set herself up for an exciting 3YO season. Trainer at Rogerson Racing Stables, Graeme Rogerson was pleased with the effort of the filly who made it 3 wins from just 7 starts and indicated she will now have a let up before resuming in spring “She was impressive again today and given she had to carry the extra weight I thought it was a top performance. We will give her a let up now before bringing her back, the Gold Trail Stakes at Hawkes Bay will be her main target as part of the New Zealand Bloodstock filly of the year series”.

With a number of classy efforts in behind, yesterday’s race shapes as one we might look back on as being a strong form indicator. Waikato Racing clubs CEO Andrew Castles commented “There is no doubt it shaped as a strong field and I think as the 3YO season develops we will look back on this race as a really strong guide. De La Terre was obviously impressive and I fully anticipate a number of those in behind will feature heavily next season”

Bred by Gerry Harvey and sold through Westbury Stud’s 2019 Yearling draft for $55,000 De La Terre is the younger sister to the Group 1 performed Aalaalune, while the rising 2YO also by Reliable Man was a $200,000 purchase for Ms C Wang and Rogerson Bloodstock at this year’s Karaka Sale.

Congratulations to her owners, G A Rogerson, Dr Siro Fuatai, Te Keeti Bloodstock Ltd, B A Hamilton, Butterworth Racing Syndicate & G R Wilson.
